Girard founded “SoBe Surf” in 2002 and “SoBe Surf SUP” in 2006….one of the first SUP companies, and pioneers of the sport on the East Coast!
He has a Master’s in Education, served as Principal of a school in Abacos, Bahamas, served as Team Chaplain (Sports Counselor) for the University of Miami Football and Baseball teams, is a singer/songwriter, and an award winning SUP racer and surfer. Most recently Girard won the 2010 NKF Pro/Am SUP surfing competition.
Girard has made sharing SUP with others his passion: “I love helping people fall in love with Stand-up Paddle Boarding and Paddle Surfing… Coaching them to control their bodies and boards and helping them make an educated decision in buying the right equipment for them.”
He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal Magazine, the Travel Channel’s “Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches,” NBC’s “First Look,” FOX’s “Sports Xtra,” Style File & Deco Drive, Plum TV, and many others…
Girard is a Team Rider for Starboard SUP and often has customers fly into his Cocoa Beach, Florida training center for several days of private coaching in the flat water and in the waves.
