NAME: Forrest Riesco
AGE: 18
LOCATION: Sunshine Coast, BC
RIDING DISCIPLINE(S): Downhill Racing
A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF: I am in my graduating year at Elphinstone Secondary and work part time at the local bike shop Spin Cycles. I’ve been racing downhill for the past six years, last season I raced the full National series as well as the BC Cup series. I love all aspects of being a downhill racer from gym training to XC riding to travelling. I get the biggest smile pulling out of a sketchy line or regaining control after getting a bit wild through a rough section. From DH to XC to DJ I try to base my training around a wide variety of riding styles to become a well rounded rider and make sure I’m always having fun on two wheels.
FAVORITE TRAILS, PLACES TO RIDE: My favorite place to ride would have to be at home on the Sunshine Coast, BC. I spend a lot of my time riding my Spitfire and exploring/finding new trails at home, full day all-mountain rides with friends are always a good time. The Bromont Canada Cup course in Quebec would definitely be my favorite race track, it’s got an amazing mix of everything from rough rock gardens to fast roller-coaster berms to big jumps.
GOALS FOR 2012): My goals for the 2012 season are to become Canadian Junior National Champion and qualify for World Championships in Austria. I am also looking to place first overall in the Canada Cup series in Junior and attend both North American World Cups.
